The Spring/Summer collection entitled "Goldfish" observes how technology and AI affects our ability to remain individuals, and how we are shaped by the information we receive and absorb?
How can you remain an individual in this over-publicised world with a short at- tention span? How quickly do we want or need to let go of what feels like you? Would you rather blend in or stand out - remain unnoticed or draw attention? How well does memory serve you?
The garments in this collection are shaped to be reminiscent of what’s consid- ered traditional or regular. But have also been flipped upside down to question and investigate what happens.
The colours are light ranging from white hues, citron-yellow accents and soft blue, grey shades. A verdant green makes for stand out pieces in coats, trousers and a sleeveless jacket.
A knitted trousers, cardigan and polo shirt feature the reaching-hand graphic that was first featured in the AW23 collection and has been abstracted even further to an interesting pattern of textures that flits in and out of recognition. Goldfish points at the idea that as humans our memory and personality be- comes ever more tangled with technology. So much so that it becomes difficult to distinguish what’s personal and what’s part of “the hivemind”.
